QUINCY STREET PARK COMMUNITY MEETING, TUES. 4/20, 6:00PM, ALDERMANIC CAMBERS (2ND FLOOR CITY HALL: The City is starting the design process for the renovation of Quincy Street Park and has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to select a Landscape Architect for the park, and should have a firm contracted within the next few weeks. As first step in the design process, Alderman Heuston and Arn Franzen, Director of Parks and Open Space for the Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development (OSPCD), are hosting a Community Meeting with the Quincy Street Park neighbors this coming Tuesday evening. In this meeting they will have a short PowerPoint point presentation to review the park's status and will then open the meeting up for general discussion to gather community members' ideas for the renovation. If you cannot attend this meeting, and are interested in Quincy Park, there will additional meetings and opportunities to discuss the park's design criteria after the Landscape Architect in on board. Arn Franzen (afranzen@somervillema.gov) also welcomes your emails and will keep a record of any ideas that are suggested for the park.
