HIGHLIGHTED UPCOMING EVENTS FROM SOMERVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS - Please
visit the school's online events calendar,
www.somerville.k12.ma.us/events to learn more about activities in the
Somerville Public Schools:
* Wednesday, March 31st: Parents/guardians at the Healey School
are invited to a focus group from 4:30-5:30 PM in the Healey School
Library (5 Meacham Street) to discuss the qualities and experiences they
seek in the next Principal of the Healey School.
* Tuesday, April 6th: From 6:30-8:00 PM at The Family Center
(366 Somerville Avenue in Union Square) the Superintendent of Schools
will host a public meeting to get community feedback on improving
bullying prevention education and school-wide intervention efforts.
Members of the public are welcome to attend.
* Thursday, April 8th: Spring all-city elementary concert begins
at 7:00 PM at Somerville High School (81 Highland Avenue). The public
are invited to this free concert performed by Somerville students.
* Friday, April 9th: Keep your eyes peeled from Somerville High
School juniors in their prom wear! For information about the prom
attendance and safety policy visit the Somerville High School website,
www.somerville.k12.ma.us/shs <http://www.somerville.k12.ma.us/shs> and
click on the "Message from the Headmaster."
* Saturday, April 10th: Rising From Our Roots is the theme of
the Somerville Peace Conference hosted at Somerville High School (81
Highland Avenue) and planned and facilitated by teen leaders across the
City. This event, which starts with a community resource fair at 11:00
AM, is an inspiring celebration of youth voices and non-violence.
Entrance fee is $1.00.
* Monday, April 12th: Somerville High School students are
inducted into the National Honor Society!
* Tuesday, April 13th: The elementary art fair opens at 5:30 PM
at the Argenziano School (290 Washington Street). Enjoy music performed
by Somerville High School students and browse the student galleries.
* Wednesday, April 14th: Somerville High's annual college fair
is from 6:30-8:30 PM at the High School.
* Wednesday, April 14th: Family and Relationship Violence and
its impact on student learning is the theme of the fourth FREE workshop
in the District's Parents as Partners Workshop Series. Visit the
